A butterball with cotton candy clouds on the side ( Mahabalipuram )

May 28, 2018

The members of Roving Eye travelled down ECR, just for a glimpse of Arjuna at Mamallapuram. As Arjuna stood on one leg and performed a penance, he became immortalized in stone. There is also another interpretation that it is not Arjuna, but King Bhagiratha, who prayed that the river Ganges descend from heaven to earth. It was a mesmerizing sight watched by the gods, Nagas and even animals. Perhaps, the sight froze Krishna as he rolled his butterball. This majestic rock is at the heart of a sapphire canvas dotted with cotton candy clouds. This is just a glimpse of the timeless architectural marvels in this historic 7th century city. It’s no surprise that the entire group of monuments form a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Feast your eyes on them.
